Hi folks, i am working on a modification, originally named "Schlaraffenland" in the german version.
I decided to translate it into English as a tribute to Psytechnic who will be making the house of gingerbread for this mod.
i thought you english speaking guys may also want to try it out, so here is the english release.
It is running well on the 1.0.0.2-executable, which is included into that package. The 1.0.0.1-executable will cause a little bug, but it is playable also.
Whats this all about actually?
Well i thought it would be nice to have a world full of food and candy and so on. You can eat almost everything you see, if you have a spoon equipped. Also you will have to take care of your weight, for you will loose speed if you are too fat! These features are included already, also some objects, units and items.
Interested? Further informations are in the readme and the changelog, which is included too.
here is the link! Enjoy your meal!

And as it goes with Alphas, here is a little bugfix for this release. Sorry about that
http://www.file-upload.net/download-3230007/bugfix-candyland-alpha-en.zip.html
Here is a little texture update, this should resolve the low fps-rating, caused by textures, that have not been scaled properly. Thanks to BigSid for investigating that.
These files are to be copied into the gfx-folder and old files have to be replaced.

Calling it an Alpha means, that it is likely to be changed. If you see any bugs or errors, feel free to report them here. Also suggestions and critics are very welcome.

It seems like its a good mod. I'm not pretty much scripter or coder or modeler but i know that scripting and modeling is way too hard, and coding as well.
And im suprised that no one replied this thread excluding me!
(sorry for bad english)
Keep up the good job!

Madness? This.... is.....Xbox360, for 1035982390572 dollars only for 2 days! Cheap editions are limited! ... Yeah very cheap indeed.
Actually i am surprised too, for the reactions in the german sections are very promising about that mod. Here in English section was one single download and no further comments or replies, except yokya. So is there anything wrong here?
Maybe you think "Oh my god, another kiddie announcing a mod" or "Beware! a pirate flag!"
I dont know what you think, but i decided to write a little something about me.
First of all, i am no kiddie at all, although you might have assumed that because of the mod topic.
I am 29 years old, living in Hamburg, Germany, and learned programmer as profession. So i have a quite good idea about what it takes to finish a complete modification. Yes, i am new to this community and new to Stranded II, but i am absolutely excited about the opportunities this game is offering. Also i figured the scripting stuff out very quick and i get great support by DC, Bigsid and the German S2Ext-Team.
The modelling stuff is new to me and of course the map creations, but when you take a look at this mod, you will see that i am learning this modelling quite well. Many models i am using are my own designs, for example the flowers or candy canes. And i am getting better at this every day.
Mapping still is a stranger to me, but i didnt give it a try yet. I will start creating an adventure, when the other stuff is ready to go. So i think, the "another kiddie"-stuff is answered now.
The pirate flag in my profile picture is a kind of celeberation for my favourite soccer team, FC St. Pauli, here in Hamburg. They managed to win the local derby after 30 years last wednesday and therefore many fans in the web are using the official skull-flag of the club for a whole week. There is no relation between me and any pirates. On Thursday i will be switching back to good old LeChuck from Monkey Island. By the way, my signature is translated as "Beware! A three headed monkey!"
I will be glad to answer your questions about this mod, but if no one is saying anything, i cant know whats wrong.
One thing i forgot: Here is a little gallery with screenshots from this mod. Some of the pictures are out of date by now, but you will get an idea about that mod.

Thanks for reading this, and again, enjoy your meal. No further bugs have been reported in the german section, so the english release should be free of bugs with the bugfix included in the first post.

I thought the "candy" land was going to be something completely diferent...
The idea is interesting tough... I'll test it.

Actually i started a closed Beta right now. But if there are any problems with this alpha, i will release another bugfix for that release. Just tell me, and of course what you think about it.

No bugs yet.
I found a typo tough, when you eat from the black rock (not chocolate) it just appears a 0 instead of "eating <...>".
And the milk is kinda oversized... That's all I got...

a small update on development. actually there is a closed beta running.
finished in that beta:
a 5th bar for weight, similar to hunger, thirst etc
dynamically scaled objects
eating with special key
gaining weight while eating and changing of speed
loosing weight while doing sports and changing of speed
speedboost if drunk to much coke / lemonade etc, have to pee
Objects: Marshmellowtree, licorice rocks replaced by licorice trees, giant sundae, giant jelly baby and some more
Items: Marshmellows, icecream, jelly babies, candyfloss lion
Units: mountable lion made of candyfloss, non aggressiv, tamable with honey, "lion to go"
fixed different bugs
work in progress:
tool for getting chocolate fragments
different foodcombinations with cooking skill
chocolate miniatures of the units as loot
sugarfairy, jellybaby trader (jellybaby = currency)
new models supposed to be eaten
randommaps
a little adventure
single maps
replacing of original building models
translation for english release
system of brushing teeth
monsters like spinach monster
different sports with sports skill and related objects
i am sure i forgot this and that in this list, but the creative pool is cooking and my keyboard is smoking already.
I hope i made you looking forward to a public beta release, although this may take a few weeks.

My apologies for the delay on modelling the gingerbread house, I only get a few hours a day for my own time, the rest is spent working or looking after my kid. Not only that, my old (really old) CRT monitor's electron gun has deviated and now my entire screen is in a bright green hue. However, work continues and now that I know you had framerate problems, I'll try make sure the textures are small but detailed enough.
no problem Psytechnic. Dont get rushed here
Waiting for the day when my good old screen shows the white flag, but it seems very tough
The textures werent scaled properly by me, i didnt know they have to be based on 2^x dimensions, so i am using now 256x256 pixels and all is fine.

I hope you like the Gingerbread House I made you and I hope everyone here testing it likes it too. If you want more "sweet" items made, I'm in the mood for some simple modelling and I'm getting more into the texturing side of things. I was thinking maybe a little gingerbread man as an edible item.
If you have any ideas for some quick things to model, feel free to ask.
