well no one believes in this until they finished at least grade 9-10 and got mark at least "C". At least in my school our teacher explained to us this concept in year 9

This is from a maths professor, so I think he knows a bit more about it than I do.
0.99999~/*2=1, Taken directly from Ancient Greek Texts, symbols mean differently now, but it would seem as if the Greek had figured it out already
Other solutions use the Golden Ratio and Fractions, most of them have already been posted, so i won't be bothering to post my solution
1 - 9.999~ = 0.000~, as there is an infinite number of nines, so there must be an infinite number of zeros before the 1 in the end. As we will never reach that one because there is an infinite number of zeros, we will write 0.
