That's a shame I wouldn't play with you, oxytamine
Joke. I want to know reason why CS2D is so much laggy when player amount is bigger than 32. There are many games with players' number a bit higher than this magic 32...
There should be some servers that have 64 player max limit, only for popular 24/7 servers. Preferably VPS Servers. Other players who start new game could be allowed to have a limit of 64 players, but it will most likely be a bunch of buts in the server.
There really shouldn't be any player limit amount change unless CS2D has a total of 500,000 registered players.
Because when I see how many players are playing online, which is a total averaged amount 0f 1376. I kept track this week odf how many players were online.
That would make no point of have the limit any higher than 32.
You act as if you have the worlds most popular server, that everyone wants to join.
nothing will happen unless you have a shitty vps, there shouldn't even be a player limit in cs2d.(its not like any servers will ever reach a player limit of 32 anyway, lol)
Didn't FlooD, Lee, and others create a custom dedicated server? Even if the server info via the server list can't show above 32 players, more than 32 players could potentially be supported.
Yes, that's right. You could actually just send 26/32 users to the list, so the users see that slots are free, when the server in reality supports more than 32 user slots. But that's not going to happen for the "official" cs2d server software, because CS2D just isn't designed for more than 32 users (actually, it could lead to some severe bugs clientside, when more than 32 users are on the server...)
More than 32 players is a feature which is simply not required. CS2D is not an MMORPG. 32 players are already too much for most maps. Also I took a look at the serverlist and I currently can't see a single server which reaches the 32 player limit (highest player count - with real players - I found was 19).
You should also note some technical things. The traffic and the required bandwidth for the server increases (nearly) exponentially with each player (~ traffic^playercount). 64 wouldn't just double the traffic of 32. It would be muuuuch more than that.
It's better to keep the limit as it is. A higher limit is not required at all and makes not much sense. I assume that a lot of kids would open 64 slot servers which still wouldn't even reach the 32 player mark. It wouldn't change anything.
