Hey guys i have been playing cs2d since at least 2009/2010 and really, WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS GAME?

I mean, just look how full was the serverlist 3 years ago, and how is it now.

Remember when you just looked up to 350 servers meanwhile there were like 20-30 popular servers fully of players. Now, i think cs2d can be briefed in:

• Minecraft server
• HC Fun
• and, oh, that's it, because all of them are empty or useless to play on.

I just came to ask you all, what happened here? Game went bad these days? Worse than ever? No hosters?

Thanks for reading this thread, I aprecciate the time you took to view & probably reply me.

The main reason for which I played that game is because I was learning to script, but I learnt enough to go beyond it's limit and there's a point where the game couldn't be modded anymore.

It's simply not worth to invest so much time in developing something that's going to require thousands of network packets to make some client effects.

About the other players, I believe they got bored because updates didn't come as often as in other times (besides that most of the time they only bring bug-fixes). If you read the news list you'll notice there are about two or three updates every year.

I don't thonk so if hosting server is the problem. Look at 2009/2010 years, CS2D was even a modern game with light engine. From what I remember I was playing CS2D on Halo Mod because I was bored with CS 1.6 sounds. Also I was playing at construction servers or Role Play, Happy Town (that was awesome for me). Now became a Counter-Strike: Global Offenive which steal all players from CS2D and CS 1.6 as well.

If CS2D wanna be awesome back, he needs some modern in-game features, new Menu (not 1.6), new sounds, new interface.. just take a look at CS 1.6 then at CS:GO, we don't wanna 1.6 style!

@user Waldin: I'd say completely opposite would happen.
The forum will have an influx of new users interested in Stranded III which means they'll be exposed to other Unreal Software IPs. Including CS2D.

Basically. More people on the forum = More people playing games featured in forum.

Cs2d needs quality mods to keep older players interested because the standard mod isn't interesting enough unless you like 2d graphics or have a shitty pc
If someone creates a mod that attracts kids and is actually fun, it will have multiple top servers like the superhero mod or happy town (classic happy town not cancerous iran town)

but to really change things in cs2d you need a revolutionary update and then steam greenlight, even if rejected it will bring lots of players.

• Magic Wizards 2

• 24/7 UNLIMITED BUILDING [WIP]
• -[IFwsI]- Jail
• DR # Deathrun

Here are some of the popular servers which regulary get a decent amount of players daily. You just don't notice.

@user floria: Lol. You don't even know the daily average player count of any server. So don't think you know when a server is played or not.

Open your eyes. The game is being played more than you think.

This is the jail server, by the way.

Returning to the topic, i wanted to compare how much were servers full 3 and 4 years ago than they're now.

To be more specific i think this is a great game, thats why i still on it, i love it, but i came here to just express what annoying is not to play in my favourite servers because they are empty and no one joins.

thats it

@user floria: So you base your opinion on servers by their current player count? Eh.

Meh.

It's actually not that active. I would have included it in the list if it was.

No and no.

It's going to be public, but it's not ready yet.

Same goes for this:

And now I realise I should probably update player names after a certain time.

Because I didn't make a function to update it. Also, this is currently a static image (it will never update). If I gave you the real thing you'd be able to find out where the data is shown. And as I said - it's not done yet.
