When I run CS2D it will not find any servers (yes, I am using the recently updated new game client). This is a new issue as it used to find the servers just fine. What's worse is that it will not log me into USGN. I am using my correct user name and password and I have tried it both with the old client and the new client. It stays on "trying to log in..." forever. I am using my correct user name and password as I have triple-checked to make sure, even going so far as to use the "retrieve password" feature.
I can still join servers by entering the IP address manually and play the game fine... but my server list is completely useless and I can not log into USGN to build my rank.
If his internet was off, would he be able to post this thread? Common sense helps a lot, my fellow.
USGN account is used to login in CS2D, not the UnrealSoftware forums one. If that's not the problem, then do what DC said. Firewalls usually end up doing these kinds of things. [Happened to me before... <.<]
I'm not using a firewall, my internet connection is working fine (I can play the game by entering a server IP manually), and I am using my USGN login (not the login for this forum). What else would keep me from connecting to USGN?
even if you are not using a firewall you will probably have the WINDOWS firewall (when you have win2000, xp, vista or 7). disable it in the system settings and try it again afterwards.
Nope. If I had Windows firewall on this PC it would be under Settings > Control Panel > Windows Firewall. There is no "Windows Firewall" subsection in my Control Panel. I have no firewall whatsoever set up on this PC.
perhaps your cs2d can't resolve the dns.
Open your CS2D folder, go to /sys/ and open usgn.dat
replace the first line (there should be usgn.de) with:
85.214.77.150
save, and start the game.

hey.. i cange it and i cant login in cs2d.. why ??
You must have done something wrong. Double check that you copied the complete IP and remove whitespace in front or behind it. Or download the zip version of cs2d at www.cs2d.com/download and restore the original file.
Changing the file makes no sense if you are able to login without changes already because the same server is used for logins and the serverlist.
